By Train

Fastest : ~2.5 - 3 Hours (ktx)

Taking the high-speed train is the fastest and most comfortable way to travel from Seoul to Suncheon. 


  • Route: Yongsan Station (or Seoul Station)  ▶  Suncheon Station

  • Train Type: KTX (Bullet Train) / ITX-Maum / ITX-Saemaeul

  • Travel Time: Approx. 2.5 to 3 hours (via KTX)

  • How to Book:

    • For more budget-friendly travel, consider purchasing the KORAIL PASS, an exclusive rail pass for international visitors.


💡 Tip: Most KTX trains bound for Suncheon depart from Yongsan Station. Please make sure to double-check your departure station when booking! 

By Express / Intercity Bus 

Taking an express bus is a budget-friendly way to enjoy the scenic Korean countryside on your way to Suncheon.


  • Route: Seoul Central City Terminal (Honam Line)  ▶  Suncheon Bus Terminal

  • Travel Time: Approx. 3 hours 50 minutes

  • Interval: Runs every 30 to 40 minutes.

  • How to Book:

    • Express Bus Booking (Multi-language support): KOBUS

    • Intercity Bus Booking: T-money Intercity Bus



By Flight (Via Nearby Airports) 

Since Suncheon does not have its own commercial airport, you can fly into a nearby regional airport and take a short bus or taxi ride into the city. 


Taking an express bus is a budget-friendly way to enjoy the scenic Korean countryside on your way to Suncheon.


1. Via Yeosu Airport (RSU) — The Nearest Airport

  • Flight Route: Gimpo International Airport (Seoul)  ▶  Yeosu Airport (Approx. 1 hour)

  • From Airport to Suncheon: Take a taxi or an intercity bus to downtown Suncheon (Approx. 20–30 minutes).

2. Via Gwangju Airport (KWJ) 

  • Flight Route: Jeju International Airport or International Airports ▶ Gwangju

  • From Airport to Suncheon: Head to the Gwangju U-Square Bus Terminal and take an intercity bus bound for Suncheon Bus Terminal (Approx. 1 hour 10 minutes).
