A: The living quarters are where I brought to life a space I had long envisioned for myself. Because I wanted a space filled with conversation and sharing, I intentionally left out a TV. In its place, I put a dining table so that the sound of media would be replaced by voices and laughter. When I first saw this building, I loved it because it had an interior with an old-school aesthetic. However, the layout felt a bit inconvenient to use, so I decided to redesign and recreate that part. I added separate ventilation windows and used a color scheme of cream, wood, and a tiny drop of gray to give the entire space a calm, cozy atmosphere.

A : On the first floor, there is a large refrigerator and an open-concept, face-to-face kitchen. A major advantage here is the spacious, large bed, centered around a beam projector setup. As you head up to the second floor, I curated a warmer, cozier vibe—enough to call it a perfect retreat for couples. While decorating minimalistically, I thought having a wooden window as a focal point would be lovely. I arranged the furniture in a charming way and laid down 600mm premium tiles in the bathroom to create a high-end feel. The exterior is a red brick house, and I really wanted to preserve that vintage, nostalgic vibe. While the inside is modern, the outside still carries the beautiful traces of time.

A: We have bear-shaped Post-it notes in front of the refrigerator. Once, three siblings visited together and left a humorous note saying, "Did you graduate from the Department of Interior Design at Seoul National University?" followed by a long list of things they loved about the stay. Since this is a space designed for communication, I truly hope our guests can take a peaceful break from the noisy world while they are here. Even if that communication isn't necessarily with someone else, wouldn't it be wonderful to have a quiet, beautiful space to spend time getting to know yourself?

A : Foreign guests often leave messages expressing their impressions in their own native languages, and that gives me immense strength. We also have a guest who has visited more than 10 times, and they always bring lovely gifts like macarons when they come. I am quite shy, so I don't usually meet them face-to-face, but when they express their thoughts through writing, it builds a warm bond and a real connection, for which I am incredibly grateful. When guests like that visit, it makes me want to recommend local specialties and hidden gems. We even have local attractions and restaurant guides organized neatly in a file at the accommodation.

A : Whenever I get this question, I always recommend "Namnyeokdeul Babsang." It's a restaurant that serves a cockle (kkomaek) set menu, and I actually found out about it through reviews of our own accommodation! Guests mentioned they loved it because it's a place where you have to line up before opening, but it's very close to our stay. Since I saw so many reviews like that and the guest responses were so positive, I went to try it myself, and it was truly delicious. Also, in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom along Dongcheon Stream, many guests enjoy taking strolls with their dogs. There is a large supermarket nearby that stays open until 11 PM, and there are two convenience stores close by as well. It’s highly beneficial for guests to know about this excellent accessibility when they visit.

A: There is a bungeoppang (carp-shaped pastry) shop nearby called "Style." Whenever guests have trouble finding our accommodation, the owner kindly guides them on the path and even helps take reservations. They are incredibly warm and helpful. My philosophy is to avoid causing inconveniences to others, and to help one another when we are living well. I believe that is the best way to run an accommodation alongside this village. Also, I recently started using a recommended deodorizer that completely eliminates odor molecules—I highly recommend it.

A : I would love to see a community form between the different accommodations. A lot of people who run these stays absolutely love traveling, and I am one of them. However, when we want to take a trip, hiring staff to cover for us comes with many practical difficulties. I think it would be wonderful if we could help each other out on empty days, or exchange labor (pumasi) during emergencies. It would bring stability, and since we understand the business, we could listen to customers well and provide fast feedback.
