Private Vacation Home (Detached Pension)

 2 rooms / Maximum Capacity: 6 people

" An accommodation should truly feel like an accommodation—there needs to be a comfortable flutter of excitement that sets it apart from home.  "

I used to run a craft workshop making bags, clothing, and other fabric items before taking

on a new challenge: operating this accommodation named "Seomunal (20 Days)."

Although I originally started it due to strong recommendations from acquaintances, it has now become an incredibly precious,

beloved space that holds a profound meaning for me.

Introduction

Q :  What is the story behind the beginning of this space?

I found myself getting unexpectedly ambitious. I visited more than 10 different properties, and this one looked the absolute warmest. The sunlight streams in beautifully, and the layout of the house itself feels incredibly cozy. I requested to preserve the clerestory windows while turning the rest into floor-to-ceiling windows. There isn't a single corner of the interior that my hands haven't touched—and deciding to install a full glass window beneath that lattice pattern was entirely my own stubborn insistence. As my desire to add more features grew, I naturally developed a deeper affection for the space.

Q :  Where was the spot you first envisioned, and where is the place your heart lingers the most even now?

I absolutely love the fire pit area in our courtyard. I wanted to scatter plenty of chairs around to create a space where everyone could sit down together. We get a lot of families visiting, and I truly wanted our accommodation to serve as a space for that kind of communication. Our guest return rate is actually quite high. I always want to show something new to those who choose to visit us again, so I find myself constantly moving flowerpots in and out, or adding more lighting fixtures.

Q :  I'm curious about the story embedded in this place and the values you, as a host, want to convey.

When guests stay here, I want them to experience a complete shift from their daily routine. Just like the name "Seomunal" (which means 20 days), I hope it feels like a slow, deep breath. I put a lot of care into the bedding and fabric items—since that's my background—so that the moment they touch the fabric, they feel pampered and safe. The value I want to deliver is a "perfectly tailored rest."

Q :  "I wish these kinds of people would visit." Do you have any specific guests you would highly recommend this place to?

I highly recommend it to families who haven't had a chance to sit down and talk deeply in a long time, or close friends who want to share a quiet night together. Because we have a spacious yard and a cozy indoor structure, it naturally opens people's hearts. Anyone who needs a peaceful break away from a hectic life will love it here.

Q : Are there any special places around the accommodation or unique to this area?

The Jeojeon-dong area has beautiful, quiet alleys. Strolling around the neighborhood early in the morning or around sunset is incredibly peaceful. It's also very close to the Okcheon Stream and the Culture Street, so you can easily explore local craft shops, charming cafes, and independent bookstores on foot.

Q :  Surely there must have been difficult moments. Could you share one with us?

Since it's an older house that we completely remodeled, maintaining the perfect balance of old charm and modern convenience was tricky. During the first heavy rain after opening, we had to double-check every nook and cranny to make sure everything was completely waterproof and secure. It was nerve-wracking, but it made us inspect the space even more meticulously for our guests' comfort.

Q :  I'm curious about the members of Seomunal!

It's mainly run by myself, infused with my passion for fabric crafts and interior details. My family also gives me incredible emotional backing and helps out whenever there's heavy lifting or yard maintenance needed. It's a space built on love and teamwork!
